My goodness.. I haven’t written a blog post since May?! I thought I was starting back out but apparently not!
Logan asked me why I hadn’t posted one in so long on Friday (I didn’t realize it had been THAT long!) and I said “what do I have to write about?! I’m in a slump and my life is Magnolia Kate right now” but then he reminded me that the reason I started this blog was to document our lives through pregnancy and a baby – even if that came a bit later!
So I think I’m back… and ready to document for ourselves things we’ve been doing with Magnolia and her growth! She’s beyond amazing (can I say that enough?!) and I want to remember it all!
Now onto our weekend.. we hosted our annual crawfish boil and it was Magnolias first!
Last year, we celebrated “Baby G” with a crawlfish boil/diaper party and this year, she was the “Belle of the Boil” of course!
We lucked out this year and had rain all day (I think it was the first year it actually rained) so most people hung in the garage and driveway.

Magnolia’s first boil! Y’all she WANTED to eat the shrimp and crawfish! She kept opening her mouth when I’d eat it π Sweet girl, maybe next year!
We have had the same group of people at our crawfish boil’s and it’s just funny to see things change over the year!
Our very first boil, Logan proposed and there were only 2 kids there and now, there were 7 babies ages 1 and under alone!
Magnolia’s a huge fan of babies and kids ever since she started daycare so she was totally content just watching them all (and trying to crawl into their carseats with them and hold their hands :)).

Sweet baby Coco – Magnolia kept trying to hold her hand! Be still my heart β€
I’ve had questions how we do it and this is how…. Logan! Ha! He orders the crawfish from Louisiana and it’s delivered a day before the boil and he mans everything and boils it while we all mingle/eat apps/have drinks!

This is our sweet Godson, Sully who just turned a year old! They were so cute together!
Everyone joked that we’ll need a bounce house next year with all the kids!
I’m not gonna lie though… it was our first “big event” with just us two and Magnolia and it was a lot of work! We had all of our families at the boil last year and this year, no one was able to make it so it was a little bit of work! It also was a little harder since Logan was busy with the boil so i’d have to remind myself “oh shoot, when did she eat last?!!?” We definitely learned that we’ll need more help this year!

Magnolia just loves her some Gayle time π
I was shocked though – Magnolia was awake for almost 6 hours by the time she fell asleep for the night and she was SO good!! She really went to anyone, as long as she could see Mama or Daddy and we had NO meltdowns! That’s a huge win!

And she loves Jess π
Logan does 2 batches every time and it’s enough to make sure everyone is good and full!
Everyone hung around for a bit and it’s a little different as the years go… everyone was gone by 7:30 and the boil started around 4.Β Gone are the days that we stay up and have drinks for days with everyone! But honestly, it was my favorite year so far!
This month, marked 9 years of living in Minnesota and we really love our tribe! None of us live by each other unfortunately (meaning we’re all about 30 mins apart so not too far), but it’s always so great when we get together!
And look at this…. at my cookie exchange in December…
We thought only 4 of us were pregnant…
But turns out there were over half of us pregnant! It’s fun to see so many little ones (missing Katie and her little guy who came a little later!).Β See why we might be needing a bounce house next year?!
And it’s funny to think that all three of us were pregnant in this picture from last year (they were in very early stages and hadn’t quite made the announcements yet) and now this year…
Our good friends stayed theΒ night since they were from out of town and it’s so sweet to see these two “playing” together!
Best we could do with them always on the move! π
Yesterday, we just relaxed, cleaned and relaxed! Sweet Magnolia Kate was very happy to not be held and to be able to crawl allllll over all her toys!
We’ve been so busy on weekends lately and it’s not slowing down until end of September so we’re trying to soak in the “stay home” days and just relax!
Have a fabulous Monday!
Kristi
So much FUN! How sweet to see all the babies and Magnolia getting so big. Have a great week Kristi π
