I can’t believe it’s been a year…

Today marks our 1 year wedding anniversary!  It’s crazy to think that last year at this time, I was getting ready with all the girls to say “I do” to the love of my life!  It’s been a wonderful first year of marriage and I’m so lucky I get to do life with this guy!

That doesn’t mean it’s been all roses – we’ve had our fair share of downs with our ups but we continue to be thankful we have each other for those moments as well.  Marriage is hard – life is hard but if you have the right person, it makes those hard moments a little bit easier 🙂

We didn’t have snow on our wedding day like we thought we’d have (it was December in Minnesota after all!) which seems fitting because that’s all I planned for!  This year, we have about 5 inches of fresh snow on the ground which would have been perfect!

Snow or no snow, it still was a beautiful day!

Some days it feels like it was just yesterday and other days it feels like we’ve been married for years!

My dance partner for life 🙂

Like I said one year ago today… I promise to choose you everyday for the rest of our lives.

Logan… I didn’t think I could love you more than our wedding day but every day I love you even more!  Thank you for being you and doing life with me.

If you want to see a little more about our wedding, you can right here.  I haven’t shared a lot about our ceremony I just realized, so a post will come soon enough about that, if you’re interested!

And you can see our wedding trailer here (under 2 minutes!).  My gosh..to be able to go back to that day!

We plan to eat lots of cake (from our wedding of course!) and toast champagne after a nice dinner.  Oh and of course watch our wedding video!

The last of the weddings…

Whew.. and just like that, wedding season is over for us and suddenly we have some free weekends! #iwish #howaretheweekendsstillfull

This last wedding was such a great one to end our summer with.. it was for two great friends and it was just a plain old fun time!

I wish I had a ton of pictures to “document” our time but it turns out, we were too busy dancing and enjoying our time to take some!  But don’t worry, I have a few to keep your interest 🙂

Nails done.. check! Now let’s get to the party and getting this girl married 🙂

Friday night, we had the Rehearsal and Rehearsal Dinner (are those both really capitalized?) for the wedding at Stella’s 97 in Forest Lake.  Such a cute place on the golf course- the hubs and I got there WAY early so we enjoyed a drink on the patio!

img_8184

A) I love this husband of mine and B) what is going on with my eye?! Apparently there’s a little “sparkle” in there!

We all visited for a while with some drinks before the rehearsal started and then did a few “run throughs” for the big day!  Dinner was family style and boy was it good!  We had chicken, steak, hash and teriyaki green beans.. yum!! It makes me hungry just thinking about it! And the mini bundt cakes.. to die for! Honestly.. I need to make myself some and hope they’re as good as Nothing Bundt Cake! 🙂

Love this girl.. can’t believe she’s married!!

Apparently I did take just a few pictures Friday night!

The Bride and her new Nephew!

Our bridal party gifts.. total win!

Had to get a picture of the Bride & Groom practicing their dance for the big day when they thought no one was watching! So sweet! 🙂

The girls headed back to a house the Bride rented for the night (and I wish I would have taken a few pictures of it because it was a dream!) while the boys dispersed to different locations (the hubs went home!).  That next morning, I was first up for hair and we kicked off the morning with an egg bake, bacon and some mimosas! We also had bridal movies playing throughout the day.. Such a cute touch and so much fun 🙂

Woo for Wedding Day!!

Makeups almost done!!

img_8128

Pretty pretty!! Almost ready to head to the Barn!

We met at the barn and finished getting ready for the day and onto pictures we went!

img_8138

Obsessed!!!

img_8136

Fun fact: One of my BFF’s Jess was the photographer at their wedding.. She’s seriously AH-MAZING!! So I’m dying to see all the pictures! 🙂

The ceremony was so sweet (Elaine’s brother married them!) and it seemed it went off without a hitch!

Can we just talk about how beautiful all the flowers were for the wedding?!  They were all done up from the Farmer’s Market and serious swooning was going on!!

img_8182

Elaine was seriously SUCH a beautiful Bride.. I can’t even tell you how much amazing it was to see her get married!

img_8145

Quick selfie of the Bridesmaids before running out after the “First Look” for pictures!

The rest of the wedding consisted of eating, drinking and dancing! My kind of night 🙂

Oh my.. I almost forgot the story of my hubby’s pants..

img_8172

You can see them more in this picture.. he ordered the pants (2 pairs to make sure he got the right size!) a few months ago (I think months?!) as soon as Adam had sent out the link to the groomsmen and once he got them in, we didn’t think much of it.  On the afternoon of the wedding (1:20 pm) I get a text from my hubs saying “I think I have the wrong pants…” to which I responded “ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!” and also “You’re no longer in the wedding!!” #abitdramatichuh And later found out, the hubs ordered the wrong colored pants (basically white compared to the tan color they were supposed to be!) and the only store in town was a thrift store.. so off he went with the right colored pants to find a pair to match- best $2.50 he spent?! Probably so!! That’s the reason they look a little “Grandpaish” if you were wondering why they had so many pleats! Boys.. 🙂

Jess said she’d take a picture for my blog- and the girls were all in! Funny that just when you think no one really reads this little space, you get surprised every now and then 🙂  These sisters were pretty sweet 🙂 Good to see you girls again!!

And the Bride with Jess before she headed out!

Can I just say that Jess Nolan – Photographer is beyond incredible.. she did one set of our engagement pictures and also did a second shoot for us with our wedding attire.. If you need a wedding/engagement photographer in the MN area.. you definitely need her!! You can thank me later 🙂 And if you aren’t convinced yet..

Sneak peek of the wedding taken by Jess Nolan – Photographer

You’re welcome 🙂

so so good!! Such a fun weekend.. seriously.. now I need to recover from the hubby’s birthday and the weekend!

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend and a great start to your week!

Wedding Weekend Recap!

Whew… I can’t believe it’s already Monday and my Brother is married!! We’ve been anxiously waiting for this weekend to start and it’s over in the blink of an eye!  It’s so amazing to spend time with the ones you love; friends and family from near and far and there’s just never enough time!!

It started off Friday afternoon for the rehearsal at such a beautiful venue; the rooftop of the Public Library in Stillwater, MN.  It’s overlooking the River and it’s seriously just beautiful!  Somehow I didn’t actually get a picture of the view so I took one from one of the groomsmen 😉

Beautiful view, right??

1

The hubs and I waiting for everyone before the rehearsal!

After the rehearsal, we set out to Pub 112 in downtown Stillwater for a few drinks and some snacks before the rehearsal dinner!

We ran back to the hotel quick after drinks and then it was off to set up the rehearsal dinner at Hoffman Park!

On the menu: Grilled brats, hot dogs and burgers, mini caprese bites, taco dip, pasta salad, chips, fruit.. and the list goes on!  A big ol’ barbecue to celebrate, per the bride and groom’s request!

Wish I would have taken a picture of the food set up!  My Mama had everything set out in watermelon bowls, platters and jars; so cute!!  It was such a relaxing evening with some lawn games and just visiting with the people we don’t get to see often enough!

Mama and me at the rehearsal dinner!

My brother and his wonderful groomsmen and officiant!

The bride with her bridesmaids, flower girl and sister-in-law!

In case you didn’t know… we’re BIG Packer fans so my Mama made sure to have a special cake just for the Bride & Groom!

The evening ended and the hubs and I headed home around 10:30 to prepare ourselves for the big party the next day!

Saturday am, we got up bright and early at 6, dropped the dogs off at a friends by 7:30 and were in River Falls by 8:20.. Talk about a whirlwind!  The hubs was in the wedding so he was with the groomsmen for breakfast bright and early!

After breakfast, this was my view in the parking lot of the hotel everyone was staying at!

Some mimosas, beer and a pull of Fireball!

I got breakfast with my Dad, Step Mom and Aunt quickly at Perkins while the boys got their stuff together and headed out to the Library to start getting ready!

Clearly VERY excited i’m doing her hair 🙂

I helped both my nieces get ready for the big event!

Quick selfie before getting into our bridal attire!

We got to the venue around 1:00 which was perfect because I was in charge of pictures, facilitating the day and a few other things!

Boys “get ready” room! Please note the bit of mess!

One groomsman helping “shave” the few pieces of chest hair that were peaking out!

I didn’t actually take any pictures of the ceremony but their photographer was amazing so I have no doubt I’ll be happy to share those when they get them 🙂

My sister and I after the ceremony!

Here’s a few of the groomsmen waiting for the Bride & Groom to get back from their private pictures!

After the ceremony (and a little bit of clean up!) we headed down to downtown Stillwater to a bar on the river- Waterstreet Grill Inn!

Bridal Shower Cheersing!

The lovely Bride & Groom and my new Sister-in-Law!

We headed to the reception around 5 to hang out a little bit before the Grand March!

They also had a really cool area with pictures and a “Memory Board” which showcased everyone they had lost over the years.  I wish I would have taken more pictures.. At this time, I was trying to just have some fun!

They had some lawn games outside and because it was such a beautiful night, everyone hung out outside for a few hours!

During dinner, in order to have the Bride & Groom kiss, you needed to sing a song with the word “Love” in it… I think our family definitely represented!!  My Niece and I started it off..

Then my Dad, Stepmom and niece went up..

There were also a few little girls who went in between (seriously the CUTEST thing ever!! So funny they weren’t timid at all!) and also the bridesmaids sang a song!

My Sister and T went up next…

Really feeling her “Phil Dunphy” moment 🙂

The hubs sang as well… he sure loves some Whitney Houston 🙂

The result of all the singing!

After dinner, they cut the cake that Anne’s sister-in-law made!

So sweet 🙂

Then dance floor opened up…

And we were dancing fiends!!

I didn’t get a ton of pictures on the dance floor since I was… umm belting out some tunes and having a dance party but love these ones of the groomsmen!! They were hilarious!

And some random pictures because #whynot??

Siblings on the dance floor.. we seriously LOVE to dance!!!

Absolutely LOVED seeing this girl and meeting her little ones.. cutest things EVER!!

I can’t even believe the small amount of pictures that were taken yesterday… I was clearly busy having fun and focusing on celebrating!!

I can’t forget the selfies with my beautiful nieces!!

Love love love them!

And because I loved their photographer… I have to share a few sneak peeks!! Seriously going to be SO good!

Can I just blow these up for my walls???

Can’t wait to share more of these beauties once they get them back!!

It was such a quick weekend and seriously so great! I love seeing my Brother so happy and I know they had the BEST.DAY.EVER!  So thankful for such wonderful people in our lives ❤

We’re back to work already and headed to Oshkosh this next weekend for another wedding!  I know… we have them 3 weekends in a row.. plus the other 6 that we’ve already attended this Spring/Summer!  It’s a good thing I love weddings! Summer has flown by and I’m not ready for it to be over!! 😦

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!!

Recapping weekend wedding festivities!

I blinked and it’s Monday again… I’m ready for a vacation!  We don’t have any on the books until Charleston in August so a long weekend will have to do for now 🙂

Our weekend was pretty full with 2 weddings (same couple!) and lots of golf!  It was such a nice weekend weather wise – we enjoyed golf on Friday after work and Saturday evening.  I actually golfed 4 times this past week… who am I??  I’m loving all the exercise, walking and quiet time with friends and the hubs!

We also attended our first Hindu wedding on Saturday – I loved all the bright colors, saris and traditions!  The Hindu temple was beautiful with their statutes upstairs and the beautiful stonework.  This was unlike any wedding I have ever been to and i’m thankful to have had the experience!

Raun was dubbed the “King” of the day while Cyndi was the “Queen”.  The girls danced to Raun in front of the temple and also danced Cyndi into the room where they were married.   It was a fun experience that i’m thankful we could be apart of!

On Sunday, the hubs golfed in the morning while I cleaned out the car… #howdoesthatwork After he got home, we started to get ready for the Sawh wedding festivities- pt 2!  Their Christian wedding was a fancier affair compared to most weddings and it was so fun to get dolled up in a fancy dress 🙂

Sunday was the Christian ceremony and it was in downtown St. Paul at A’bulae.  *We had an All Employee Meeting for work at this venue a few years ago so I knew how much I loved this venue before we even got there!*  It was so rustic and picturesque.  The rooftop was amazing!

We ended up getting home around 9:30 just in time to get the dogs out and get ready for bed!  Such a fun weekend with friends and loved meeting some new ones!

Now i’m ready for an early bedtime tonight to prepare for the week ahead!

Hope you all had a fabulous – fun filled weekend!
