A Galentine’s Brunch

Hello and Happy Monday!  We had a low key weekend (lunch and time with my brother and SIL and a fun diaperkeg party!) but somehow it still managed to fly by!

I can’t believe tomorrow is Valentine’s Day! I feel like it was just New Years and all of a sudden we’re in the middle of February!

A sweet friend and I hosted a fun Galentine’s Brunch yesterday to celebrate a few of our favorite gals! It was so nice to get together and catch up over some waffles, donuts and mimosas 😍

PS – let’s see how  many times I can use the word “love”! ha!

I mean.. who doesn’t love donuts?!

Love me some diy yogurt parfaits! 🍓

Love any chance to use our waffle iron (thanks to Cyndi for manning the grill!).

If you haven’t tried Champagne Bears before – they’re a total game changer and I think you should click “add to cart” right now!! Plus, they’re super cute and that’s all that matters, right?!

Love these girls 😍
Parties and Mimosas are totally my love language! Anyone else with me on that?!

So much fun with such sweet girls (and little ones!).  We’re already planning the next event!  At-home spa day, anyone?! 😘

Save vs. Splurge

I am a huge fan of saving some pennies when it comes to just about anything I buy!  It’s not that I don’t love the designer brands – it’s just that, most of the time, I’m not willing to pay those prices!

I rounded up some of my favorite items of the month – with a beautiful save option 🙂

Valentine Candy Popcorn

While visiting my nieces a few weekends ago, we thought it would be fun to make a fun Valentine’s treat! Since I don’t see them as often as I’d like – it was fun being able to do this ❤ love these not-so-little girls!!

How many Valentine things can I have on the blog this month, you ask?! Oh not many.. 😂

Ingredients:

20 cups of popcorn (you can use regular microwave popcorn but we used Skinny Pop!)

White chocolate (to melt)

Pink chocolate (to melt)

Valentine Sprinkles

Valentine M&Ms

First, put 20 cups of popcorn into a large bowl.

Next, melt the white chocolate and pour over the popcorn.

Make sure all the popcorn is coated with the white chocolate!

After the popcorn is coated, spread the chocolate covered popcorn onto a baking sheet.

Now is the fun part – start coating the popcorn with the sprinkles.  If you’re making this with kids, you might need a bit of wine as well 🙂

Not that I didn’t enjoy the “I want to do it! No, I want to do it!”

Then add the M&Ms…

Lastly, you’ll add the pink chocolate all over the toppings!

Then, of course, you need more sprinkles and M&Ms to go over the pink chocolate, right?!

Viola!  The final product 🙂 It’s so festive AND so yummy!

I got this idea over here and she has some cute printables to use these as Valentine’s for your kiddos school 🙂

I love being able to do these things with my nieces – pretty soon they’re going to be too old (almost there :() so I’ll take any time I can get!

What are your favorite Valentine treats?

Two Valentine’s Day Looks

Happy February 1st! I can’t believe we’re already done with January… I mean, how does time go by so quickly?!?

Now that it’s February.. we’re in full Valentine mode over here (as if we weren’t before?! :))  and I’m loving all the fun dresses for date nights (with friends or loves). I totally fell in love with this dress but at that price point for just a Valentine dress – I set out to find a similar dress for less and found this beauty from no other than, Charming Charlie!

I mean, it’s so similar in style and color (and under $40!) that I knew I had to give it a try!

I loved browsing their store – it’s seriously the cutest! – and those prices?! Even better!

And I couldn’t get over this dress for Valentine’s Day either – it’s the perfect pop of red and would be great for more of a casual setting!

How cute is my sister?!

We had so much fun “posing” together to share these fun dresses!

Note to self – probably add some self tanner before my Valentine date because I’m not sure I can get any paler!

Have you shopped at Charming Charlie before?  Where is your favorite place to shop for dresses?

Happy Hour – Romantic Comedy edition!

Thanks for stopping in for another edition of “Happy Hour with Holly & Kristi”.  In the spirit of Valentine’s Day and love, we’re sharing our favorite rom-coms!

I love watching these types of movies and I don’t know that too many have come out recently that I’ve loved.  So it’s back to some oldies but goodies:

How to lose a guy in 10 days – This has always been a favorite of mine!  I just love their chemistry together and it’s so funny!

Every time this movie is on TV, we end up watching it and laughing so hard!

Oh my… this is without a doubt my favorite movie (tied with Sweet Home Alabama, of course)!  I love the music, the story line, the actors and just about everything that involves Grease 🙂 But don’t mistake me… I didn’t care for the Live version that was on TV.. no thank you – original all the way.

I know I said this earlier BUT this is without a doubt my favorite movie!  I just love every little piece of it – no joke!  If you ask my husband what my favorite  movie is, he’d answer “Sweet Home Alabama” immediately.  🙂

Thanks for stopping by and hopefully you enjoyed a glass of wine or cocktail while reading this (or bailey’s in your coffee)!

What are some of your favorite romantic comedies?!

Valentine Gal Gift Guide

Happy Tuesday!

I know we’re still a little ways out from Valentine’s Day BUT I thought I’d share a little gift guide in case you’re the giving (or receiving) type!  We don’t generally do a lot of big gifts – normally just a little dinner and maybe some flowers! But if we did gifts then these would be on the top of my list!

I mean, how cute is that phone case?! And that workout tank – I might actually enjoy working out a little more if I had one of those 🙂

What are some things on your wish list?  Do you do anything fancy or if you’re not with the one you love – do you do a girls night?
