Fall Bucket List.

Happy Wednesday!! I had every intention of blogging about my bridal shower on Monday but life happens and somehow I came down with the flu! I don’t know the last time I was SO sick… it was bad! So I’ll share my shower with you tomorrow instead 🙂

We’re already into the second week of October and I just can’t believe how quickly it’s flying by.  I feel like I say that often but this year has just gone… swooooooosh! I mean, I’m not complaining.. it’s almost Christmas (and baby) time but it’s just crazy when I think about it.

I made a short bucket list for things I want to do this year before the snow comes:

Bucket List 2018:

– Drink as many Pumpkin Spice Lattes as possible yessssss. Decaf of course but still perfect. favorite time of the year!

– Visit a pumpkin patch.

– Bake Pumpkin Cream Cheese Swirl Muffins  I‘ve already made them twice and don’t see it being the last time!

– Watch as many Hallmark fall movies as possible

– Watch Hocus Pocus

– Burn fall candles  all day.everyday.

– Make s’mores

– Dress up for Halloween; Logan wants to paint my stomach this year so we’ll see if I let him… 🙂

– Eat Candy Corn

– Decorate for Fall

– Carve pumpkins

– Visit Pumpkin Nights

– Wear #allthescarves and get cozy!

There’s so many more that I’d love to add but I need to be more realistic since we only have a few more weeks without snow… or maybe we’ll get lucky like last year – and the snow will stay off until December 🙂

I’ve also started Christmas shopping… I mean, I bought a few things in August and now am starting my lists and crossing things off.  It’s the best way for me to truly enjoy the season without having to run out for gifts at the last minute!

What’s on your bucket list this fall?!  What am I missing on my list?!

TBB Asks: Fall 2.0

Gosh, I love fall! I really love summer but there’s something about the crisp air and the changing leaves in the fall that I just love! And also, the fact that the PSL is back only during fall might have something to do with it too 🙂

I haven’t done a linkup in forever, but thought this was a fun little way to get into the fall spirit, so today, I’m following Emily with this fun questionnaire!

Favorite fall color: This is hard but I just LOVE the orange and maroon colors! The trees, the mums, the pumpkins… just all of it!

Apple cider – hot or cold: In all honesty… neither! I’m not a fan in the slightest…. but sometimes I wish I could be. But nope, not my thing!

Caramel apple – yes or no:  Yes! I used to not like these a whole lot but Logan took me to a place closer to his hometown called Little Farmer and their caramel apples were SO good! They’re already sliced so it’s a little easier to eat with all the toppings! They’re so hard to bite into with the caramel on a stick otherwise!

Pumpkin or apple cider doughnut: Pumpkin all the way!

Long or short cardigan:  Hmm.. it depends! I don’t like short ones as in right up to my hips but I also don’t love the really long ones that go to my ankles! So somewhere in between is more like it 🙂

Favorite football or fall party food:  #Givemeallthedips No joke… I live for dips 🙂 Queso, Taco, Spinach and Artichoke…. all of them!

Orange or white pumpkins: For decorating, white.. but there’s something about seeing all the orange ones outside.  I just love seeing all those colors since it’s more “fallish” to me!

Hayride or bonfire: Well the bonfire consists of s’mores so that would win out over just about anything!  I always wish we had more in the fall but we just don’t! I don’t love smelling like smoke after but the s’mores… those are more than worth it!

Favorite fall baked good: These Pumpkin Cream Cheese Swirl muffins… I’m legit obsessed. My SIL made them a few years ago when we visited and I’ve loved them ever since! To be honest, I hadn’t really cared much for pumpkin before I tried these and now I’m hooked!

Most anticipated fall activity: Pumpkin patches! I can’t wait to have a little one to bring with us  next year! I always make Logan go with me to one and every year, we feel so goofy without a little one (especially all those years, we were trying and praying for one!) so next year will be extra special with all the firsts! Also, in college, I used to love October because I would watch all the scary movies and Halloween movies with Michael Myers with my Grandma.  Loved all that time with her!

That’s a wrap! If you fill one of these out, tag me so I can read all of your responses! Or let me know in the comments below because I’m always SO interested in other people’s favorites!

Tips for Decorating your Front porch!

One of the most frequently asked questions is how I decide what to do with my front porch and if I can help people with theirs!

And one of my favorite things to decorate in every season is our front porch!

  1. Hang a wreath on your front door: This can add so much to your front porch.  if there’s one thing I recommend, it’s this.  It’s such a small detail, it can be overlooked sometimes but to me, it’s so inviting when I walk up to someone’s home and they have a beautiful wreath.  It can be DIY or store bought – just make sure it dresses up your door 🙂
  2. Stick to one theme: It’s easy to grab all your fall decorations and place it all outside BUT it looks a lot more cohesive and make more sense if you stick to one theme.

Update what you already have: I love buying at least one or two new things to put out front but other than that, I just reuse and re-purpose other items I’ve used for other seasons.  For example, this chair… I simply replace the pillow every season and bam it’s set for the new season!

4. Balance is key: If you add something to one side,  you need to add something to the other.  Seems like common sense but trust me, I used to not know what to really put on each side when we had smaller spaces.

5. Keep things simple: When you have smaller spaces, you want to make sure you keep things simple.  Sometimes I get so excited to put everything out that it just looked a bit cluttered instead of welcoming!

6. Keep in mind the size of your porch: If you have a smaller porch like myself, you want to make sure it doesn’t look too cluttered.  If you have a bigger porch,  you want to make sure it doesn’t look too empty.  So when buying any pieces of decor (or repurposing) keep your porch size in mind!

7. Make it your own: Gaining inspiration from Pinterest or friends porches is great but make sure you add touches that truly make it your own. I love adding letters to my wreaths to represent our last name!

I loved our front porch last year and can’t wait to see it with our new siding!

8. Make use of plants and flowers: I love adding in #allthemums to my front porch in the fall.  They go so well with fall decorations and add the perfect touches.

9. Use all sorts of colors: Traditionally, fall brings reds, yellows and oranges to decor but more low key colors like whites and silvers can really spruce up a front porch.  I try to add a small pop of color as I can if I go the neutral route.

Hopefully these tips helped you with your future front porch decorating.  Truly, make your porch how you like and what makes you happy to look at!  Most people don’t visit your home on the inside so it’s nice to have people see the cute decorations on while driving by!

As always, you are more than welcome to send me pictures of your house still to ask for ideas 🙂 Can you tell I really love those front porches?!

Happy Wednesday!

101 Market

Happy Thursday!

I totally planned to blog all week this week and then life happened so that didn’t happen! BUT I went to a cute little Pumpkin Patch market yesterday with a friend and had to share!

I’m such a sucker for pumpkins 🙂

I had never been before but Logan actually recommended it from a coworker! I didn’t think twice when I asked Gayle and thankfully she wanted to go just as much!

We plan to carve some pumpkins or at least see carved pumpkins this weekend so I snagged a few for outside until we get to carving!

How cute is this little stand?!

And can we talk about fall fashion?! It’s my favorite (aside from my Lilly!) and I can’t get enough of sweater dresses, boots and a good wool hat!

My sweater dress is from last year but how cute is this one?!

The market had such cute stuff inside as well – and we all know I’m a huge fan of Christmas too so this was perfect!

There were tons of activities for kids too – I mean, tons!  This will definitely become a place I’ll make note to visit for years to come!
