Five on Friday!

Hello!! Happy Friday!

Currently, I have a Pumpkin Apple candle from BBW burning and a Pumpkin Spice Latte in hand just before logging into work!  Isn’t that glorious?!  I’ll keep this one short and sweet 🙂

Today, I’m linking up with a few of my favorite bloggers to share 5 thoughts I had on this Friday!

{One}

We finally got our siding finished on the house and it’s a complete 180 from what we had previously!  I’ll let the pictures do the talking 🙂

We still have a few things that need to be done like gutters, A/C and screens but I’m happy the bigger things are done!

{Two}

All things fall… I can’t believe how fall-like the weather has been around here!! We usually get a few more weeks of warmer weather (or so I thought) before it really set in but this year… it’s been in the 60’s and low 70’s (if we’re lucky!).

I love all things fall like boots, fashion, candles, PSLs, etc but I’m not sure I’m ready for flip flops to be gone!

{Three}

London, Paris and Portugal… our trip is almost upon us and I’m getting nervous! Did I even mention on here that we’re going to all those places?! If you’ve been, I need recommendations – mainly about  my HAIR stuff! Logan seems to think I don’t need a curling iron, straightener OR blow dryer but seriously.. I need at least one!

Hair Dryeyr meme

Ladies, who traveled to those places, did you purchase an adapter AND converter?  Did you just purchase a cheap curling iron or straightener once you were there? I need your thoughts!   Also, the weather in both Paris and London will be in the low 60’s but high 80’s in Portugal so I really need to figure out how to pack efficiently! And I also need to know a good pair of walking shoes… I can use my tennis shoes but if there’s something better – let me know!

{Four}

Did I mention previously that I went to my Brother’s first football game last week?! I feel like I missed that one!  They finally played up by us (which has never happened) so Logan and I headed up there for a night of football!

I feel like I’m back in school when I go to his HS games. They make me feel young again 😉  Speaking of my brother – he and his wife are due around the time I get back from Portugal – I’m hoping Baby B stays in there a little longer to wait for me!

{Five}

This past weekend, we were finally able to spend time with my Dad’s side of the family and it was so incredibly nice!  The weekends go by too fast as usual but it was great to be able to catch up and celebrate my cousin getting married!

We have a pretty small family on his side (think 8 cousins, total including me and my siblings?!) so it’s always nice when we can get together! You can read more about it here if you missed it!

One more for this Friday because it’s fall around here and I thought I’d share a story from yesterday…. I stopped by Starbucks to grab my yummy PSL before I headed into the office.  I was so happy because I could FINALLY use the Order Ahead app because PSLs are in there (I’m still trying to figure out how to order a Skinny Vanilla latte on those things – I know someone mentioned the caffe latte but I don’t know what to put in it to be the skinny vanilla?! Is it just me?!) so I was ahead of schedule! I got into the office and guess what… when I went to grab my purse and work bag on the passenger seat, my PSL spilled ALL OVER. I mean, it fell upside down and went all over my seat and my pants and under my pants… it was terrible.

PSL

Not only was it wasteful of my drink but I was soaking wet! At work, we don’t have the dryers either so in the bathroom I went with lots of paper towels… It wasn’t the best start to my day, that’s for sure! Here’s hoping today’s better 🙂

Please oh please, let me know any tips for traveling as we’ve never been out of the country so far! And also… have a great Friday!!

What are your weekend plans?! Mine include another wedding and more fall things 🙂

    It’s best to take an adapter and a converter, just in case. The adapter is for the outlets being different and you can buy a set that includes most every attachment needed. The converter is needed for items that use high energy (blow dryer, flat irons, etc.) to convert our higher power required gadgets to the other country’s output of energy…otherwise you could blow a circuit or fry your gadget. Search Amazon for dual voltage flat iron (or curling iron) and you’ll find something like this (below) that should automatically adjust to the electricity output, then you only need to use the adapter when you plug it in. I’ve noticed that my gadgets are a little wonky when in Europe but I get the job done. I vote get a flat iron since you can curl your hair with it as well as straighten it!

    When I travel to Europe with varying temperatures I rely on layers. Take a couple of jackets and scarves (truly only the scarves show in those pics anyway, not what you’re wearing underneath), and light sweaters and blouses to mix and match. One pair of heels, walking shoes, flats, and wear your boots on the plane so eliminate packing space. =) I once packed for 10 days in Turkey and Romania in a carry on…it can be done!

    Comfy shoes that felt like I was walking on air was my Puma Vikky’s.

    I love your fall energy – and am channeling your cooler tempts in my mind! Oh, and the house siding looks AMAZING! I love the color of it too. Beautiful.

    Your house looks GREAT!!! When we lived in MN we were totally AMAZED at how people would completely rip off the outsides of their homes and remodel them. We’d never experienced it to that extent before. There were some super dramatic and for the better transformations of some really ugly homes. You had great bones to work with and the color change and shingles look beautiful!!! I hope it cooling down so quickly doesn’t mean you’re in for a long winter😩. I’m trying to find out the answer to your Starbucks question from my little barista…I’ll let you know if she comes through😉👍🏼

      Here’s what she said…”i have never used mobile order on the app but im assuming you would do this: drink would be cafe latte (thats just a regular latte) and then to make it skinny vanilla change the milk to non-fat and put sugar free vanilla syrup” Hope this helps!

      Yes you would be amazing if she could let us in on that secret!!😍😍

      We actually had terrible hail damage to the back of the house and somehow we got approval for a whole wrap of siding! It definitely helped with our decision 😊

      I feel the same way about winter.. I just said the same thing to Logan – we better not have a terrible winter now! 😫
