Weekend Bridal Recap!

Happy Tuesday!

This past weekend was one for the books (or at least the blog ;)) and of course, Monday came too soon! I was in Madison visiting with my Dad’s side of the family and celebrating our “to-be bride” who is joining our family Labor Day weekend!

I also got to spend some much needed time with my Grandparents – which is something I never take for granted!  If you’re new around here, I lived with my Grandparents for my first two years of college – in a new town and state!  They were absolutely amazing to me and it was so nice to spend all that time with them!

My aunt and cousin hosted a bridal luncheon on Saturday and then we hit the town for a girls night out! I can’t even tell you how much fun we had!

The weather called for rain all weekend but we had sunshine all day!  It made our walk downtown a lot more manageable 😊

Loved bar hopping with this crew 😍

How gorgeous is the bride to be?!

Next stop.. the Dueling Piano Bar! 💃🏻

We stopped by a Dueling Piano bar and y’all.. I’m always obsessed with those types of bars!

Logan is so embarrassed 99% of the time when we go to those because I turn into Beyonce and sing and dance my heart out 🙂

Thankfully, my family does as well!

Just a little bit of sweat… I mean, glistening! And guess what?! Our lipstick stayed put all night 💋😍

Cheers to the bride at our last bar!

And to remembering I’m not 21 anymore! 😭

It was nice to be able to get to know Joanna better (she’s so great! My cousin is a lucky man 😉) and to chat more with my little cousin, Jordan (and of course, everyone else there!)!  She lives in Michigan with my aunt (and other cousin) so we don’t get to see each other as much as we should! But when we do, it’s such a great time!

I love spending time with my family and am truly thankful for the people in my life!  My aunts are so fun and I just enjoy all the time I get with them and my cousins.  It’s funny the things you realize when you get older 🙂

And yes, I totally made them try my Lipsense! 💋

Needless to say, I can’t wait for their wedding in a few weeks and another weekend with these folks!

Hope your weekend and Monday were fabulous and that you’re ready to rock Tuesday!

Life Lately

Happy Thursday!

Finally a blog post in the morning… and everyone said “Yaaaasssss!” 🙂

It’s been a bit crazy around these parts – or it just always feels that way! Here’s a little something of what’s been going on!

The hubs and I had drinks and queso at Wild Bills – seriously obsessed with their Wild Berry Margarita.

My favorite margarita ever!

So good to see this mama-to-be!

And seeing my Mama!

We went to the horse races and saw ostriches, zebras and camels racing as well 🙂

We’ve gone the last 5 years, minus last  year!

We celebrated a sweet little girls birthday with these folks!

And it was great finally catching up with these ladies!

img_7948Logan bought 114 brats yesterday and I can’t wait to try the Mac N Cheese brats and garlic cheese curd brats!

Yes, my husbands crazy and yes, I love him 🙂

I love me some brats!!

That’s life lately around these parts.  I’m headed to celebrate my cousin’s fiance this weekend at her shower and can’t wait to spend some time with my family!

What are you up to this weekend?!

Nsale picks!

Another late post… sorry ’bout it!

I guess there’s a big sale at Nordstrom going on right now… you didn’t hear that?! 😉

I promised to share some of my picks from the big Nordstrom sale and while I’m not sure I’ll keep everything I purchased, I realized I didn’t really buy anything that fun! I thought the sale was a little bit of a disappointment compared to last year but it didn’t stop me from buying enough 🙂

I bought a lot of basics which are great for fall and winter because they can pair with just about anything!

I always love these basic BP long sleeve tees – they’re under $20!
This next top is totally a “give me all the ruffles!!” and it’s such a soft thin sweatshirt! I can’t decide if I love it in gray or if I want it in a different color though…. it’s under $50 and perfect with boots or plain flats!
Who doesn’t love a good flannel?! This one is so soft and it’s not bulky in any way. It’s also really long so you can wear it with leggings and boots which is a total plus!
Another one of those BP long sleeve tees – just a great basic for under sweaters and vests! I should mention also – these leopard flats (under $60) are the only shoes I tried and I can’t decide if I love them or if they’re just eh.. thoughts?!
Another gray bell sleeve top… this top is great because it has actual sleeves all the way down to keep your arms warm throughout fall and winter! Love the look of that with the bell sleeve still! I clearly don’t need both gray ones so I just need to decide which I really like…
I tried on quite a bit of other pieces but I deemed them all fails in my book – if you want to see let me know 😉

I also started my Christmas shopping from this sale and already have a few people done!! I did that last year and it made the season so much easier!

What are pieces you’ve picked up? If you haven’t been able to shop the sale yet, it goes live for everyone on Friday at 2 am! Are there pieces you’ve had your eye on?

See you tomorrow for a little bit of what’s been going on lately!

Tuesday Talk!

Helllllllooooooo (imagine Mrs. Doubtfire’s voice)!

I’m linking up late with some of my favorite bloggers to discuss just about anything!

Today’s topic: Lipsense!!

What is lipsense

I mentioned on Friday that I drank the kool-aid and I’m officially hooked! I signed up to be a distributor and am so excited to start this.  Can I just say… I have NEVER done something like this before (I usually think it’s a waste of time!) – and don’t worry, it will be minimally mentioned on the blog since that’s not what this little space is all about – but I wanted to share it with all my gals who are always so supportive! 🙂

I’m totally the girl who loves a bold lip color (shocker, right?!) but i’m also the girl who is worried about having lipstick on my teeth (somehow it happens) or it seems to rub off in the middle and I’m left with almost just a liner! I mean, it looks ridiculous unless I’m constantly checking the mirror..

Lipstick_onteeth

BUT ladies.. this lip color stays on ALL day! I went out on a limb and ordered Kiss for a Cause (a bright pink) and I’m so glad I did!  I mean, put it on at 6 am before work and it’s still on and looking great at 6 pm – without reapplying the lip color! It’s just crazy and I’m definitely on board after that!

Again, I’m not trying to push anything on any of you – just throwing it out there in case you haven’t tried it or have and are looking at starting their own little stash 🙂

If you’re interested in following along while I make a fool out of myself with live videos (does anyone look good in those?! ;)) and pictures of the lip colors while I try them on daily, leave your email below and I’ll add you to the closed group on FB!

Alright well.. if you’re still reading, cheers to you!! 🙂 And thanks for listening to me vent about my new adventure!!

Hope you have a fabulous Tuesday! I’ll be back tomorrow sharing what I’m keeping from my NSale purchases 🙂

Friday Favorites!

Happy Friday!!

I’m so happy it’s Friday and almost the weekend! I can’t wait to almost sleep in until 7:30 😂

I’m linking up with a few of my favorite bloggers to share some favorites of the week!

{One}

I met Jess for mani/pedi time with some queso and margaritas mixed in Wednesday night!  It was such a fun girls night and I was home at 7- perfect!

{Two}

I totally drank the Lipsense kool-aid and now i’m in love!! I tried Kiss for a Cause thanks to April and I totally love it! I have it on in the above picture!  I tried it yesterday while at work and y’all… I put it on at 5:40 am and it stayed on ALL day!! I took it off finally around 6 and it was still looking great.  Now, I feel the need to get all the colors because #duh.  Or maybe I just need to become a distributor so I can get a discount 😉

{Three}

The #Nsale… as if you didn’t expect this to be one of my favorites!? I ordered a few things online yesterday and checked in store yesterday on my lunch!  I wasn’t as crazy about it this year as last but I still found so many things I swear I need 🙂 Did you shop it?!

{Four}

I am totally one of those crazy people who LOVE Christmas… if you’re new around here, beware! 🙂 Some of you are thinking i’m crazy and annoying while the others are totally on board with me!  I already purchased our tickets for How the Grinch Stole Christmas at the Children’s Theatre and I’m so excited because Hallmark has their “Christmas in July” for the week!  I plan to watch a few Christmas movies this weekend to hopefully get my fix!

The weather was a high of 65 yesterday and it just seemed like fall already! It’s supposed to be back to 90 defeees tomorrow though so I’m happy to report summer is still around 🙂

Hope you have a great weekend! Do you have any fun plans?!

Happy Hour – Must have beauty products!

Heyyooooo, it’s Thursday which means it’s a day closer to the weekend AND if you haven’t entered the giveaway on my facebook page then get to it!  The giveaway ends tonight and the winner will be announced at 7 pm CST!

Also… the #Nsale started this morning for cardholders but you can still take a look to make note of what you might need/want. Let me know if you want me to do a blog post about my favorite items!

Now, moving on…. I’m linking up with Holly for another edition of Happy Hour and we’re discussing our favorite summer beauty products!  So grab your margarita coffee and let’s get chatting!

img_3621

In the summer, I use minimal make up because hopefully I’ve got a little bit of a tan…

but if not, this is  my favorite…

Favorite self tanner: I’ve mentioned this product before but I really love how natural this tanner looks! Much better than some others out there with no streaking!

Favorite “foundation” : I use this instead of actual foundation (I get the medium) and I use my handy dandy make up sponge to put it on!  If I’m feeling up to it, then I put on this concealer.  I tried so many concealers and this is definitely my favorite and will remain a “must have” to me.

Favorite Bronzer: hands down. They have a travel size if you just want to try it too!

Favorite mascara: I have this weird thing with my eyes that I’m clearly allergic to something! In college, I used Maybelline and had the worst allergic reaction so ever since then I use this one since it’s hypoallergenic!

I always have lip gloss on as well!  MAC lip gloss and lip stick is my usual “go to” but I just got Lipsense in and I’m loving that it stays on ALL day!

Favorite volume products: If i’m being honest… I wash my hair every 4-5 days (don’t worry, I still shower the other days!) and that is thanks to this dry shampoo!  It’s the only shampoo on the market that cleans your hair while helping absorb any grease! I am fortunate (?) that my hair doesn’t really get greasy but this helps create volume!

Another product I love to put on my hair after I curl it… is this bad boy! It really does help keep volume in my hair along with some curlers 🙂

Want to know the best part about every product (minus my mascara)?  They’re all offered in travel sizes at a lower cost if you want to give any a try!

MY other beauty products fluctuate depending on the season/holiday but these are all constant!  What are some beauty must haves for you?! I’m always looking to try new products!

This month’s topic is to share a weekend in the life, but guess what?! I share those almost every week 🙂  To recap the last few weekends, you can check out some recaps herehere, and here from January!

We spent some time with my in-laws recently and celebrated one of Logan’s cousins who graduated high school in June.

We even got to spend a little time with my sister and niece which is always a favorite of mine!

We also like to hit up craft/art fairs on the square!

I bought the cutest sign ever from this shop at the fair and can’t wait to show you it hung up! 🙂 Now to make my husband do that since my pictures never hang straight when I do it myself!

One more thing before I go… As you have probably noticed – the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale starts tomorrow for cardholders and I’m giving away a $100 gift card over on my facebook page so you can shop the best sale and it’s super EASY! You simply must “like/follow” my Facebook page and share the post! Easy peasy! 🙂 The winner will be announced tomorrow at 7 pm so get on it!!

Friday Favorites – Life Lately!

Well, this last weekend was one for the books!  Want to know why?? We put in a patio with pavers from SCRATCH!! Who does that, right?!

I’m linking up with some of my favorite bloggers to share a few of my favorites from life lately- mainly our new PATIO! 😍

My inlaws were in town for the 4th of July weekend and we are so thankful for all their help!  We didn’t realize how many people we really would need to achieve this project but it really took about 10 people – and we probably could have used quite a few more the first day!Looks really fun, right?!The patio took about 2.5 days to put in and it was a lot of work!  We managed to only have a few bumps in the road; ordering the wrong set of pavers and realizing it AFTER almost all 1500 were manually moved to the back of the house, not ordering enough sand from the landscaping company, a terrible sunburn and an almost broken foot thanks to pavers and flip flops! It was definitely an experience to say the least! I think we’ll hire out next time 😉

Once the patio was FINALLY finished – we set out for a few drinks and apps on a patio 🙂

And also decided to give Glow-in-the-dark mini golf a try since regular mini golf wasn’t really possible with my poor SIL’s sunburn!

After mini golf, we headed back home to eat some leftover brisket and mac n cheese and settled on a few episodes of Ballers!

We had SO many sparklers left from our wedding, we thought we’d give those fun “boomerang” videos a try… and seriously they are hard to make cute! 😂

How cute are my sister in laws?! So much fun!

That’s it for life lately! I’ll try to refrain from all the patio pictures – it’s still a work in progress (decor wise)!

Happy Friday!! Do you have any fun plans for this weekend?!

Kristi
