Happy 2017! I hope y’all have started off the new year the way you wanted to! I certainly did – with lots of quality time with my husband and pups! I wish I could say I have all of these fun pictures from this past weekend but to be honest, we laid kind of low and it was amazing!
My husband is in school (and working full time) and therefore I don’t see him much throughout the week – mix that with all of the busyness of the weekends and I feel like it’s forever before we get to spend some time together; just the two of us! But this past week, he had off of work and school so we were able to get back into the groove of things – right in time for him to start classes next week 😦
Friday afternoon (after work) was spent looking at wedding dresses for one of my good friends; the couple that just got engaged, that I mentioned here. It was so much fun being able to see her try on dresses and get a feel for what she might be looking for ❤ I felt so blessed that she asked me to join her and can’t wait to see which dress she decides on!
After dress shopping, we met up with the boys for some appetizers and drinks 🙂 The rest of the night was spent watching Nightcrawlers and Inferno with my husband. This was huge… he doesn’t love watching movies so I loved that we watched not just one.. but two movies!
On Saturday (New Years Eve, duh) we met up with some of our good friends, Elaine and Adam at Pat’s Tap for brunch! It was so nice to catch up, since we hadn’t seen them since Halloween! After brunch, we headed to an arcade bar for a few more drinks and games!
We ended our night in the kitchen – with lobster tail and shrimp for an appetizer (while playing a little cribbage), followed by Prime Rib and garlic cheese curd mashed potatoes. We thought about going out with some friends, but honestly I’d rather not fight people to get a drink at the bar.. so this was the perfect night for us!
Oh yeah.. and we ended the night with this… 🙂
A New Years proposal from my BIL and now soon-to-be SIL! Unfortunately, we were not able to be there with the rest of the family for the big question but we can’t wait to celebrate the next time we’re all together!

Meal Planning with Shay before the Packer Game – and last view of our tree!
Sunday and Monday were spent getting the house in order and taking down all the Christmas decorations. I’m always so sad when the tree gets taken down and that was no different this year… counting down the days until we can pick another one out next year! Luckily, we still have Christmas this coming weekend with my Mama and siblings so we can keep the Christmas spirit going a little bit longer.. 🙂

First meal from the cook book – Mexican Calzones!
What did you do for New Years? Was it a big night out (with a bit of a hangover Sunday) or did you lay low with friends?
Before I go.. did you hear that the Lilly Sale is on Thursday?! I’m sharing quite a few pointers tomorrow on the blog for the sale, so check back if you’re interested in Lilly Pulitzer pieces on major discount! 🙂
